Life of Messiah – This is the time period after the Feast of Tabernacles but before Jesus’s execution. Luke 10:17 – 20 Seventy people returned with joy. They recognized that they do have some supernatural authority. Jesus warns them not to rejoice in this authority but rejoice that they have a place in the kingdom. Jesus saw Satan fall from heaven as a result of pride. Don’t let pride corrupt you. This lesson could be a reference to a future event. Revelation 12:1 The woman is a symbol of Israel. Verse 7 describes a war in heaven. This described war could be a future event. Satan’s current role is that of a prosecutor. Luke 10:21 – 24 Jesus tells the disciples that they are blessed because they have seen things that the prophets and kings in the past never saw. It was prophesized during that time that the Messiah would appear. First Peter 1:10 – 12 describing a seeking to see this Messiah. All those prophets and kings were there to serve those that came during and after the coming of the Messiah. Conflict of the question of eternal life – Luke 10:25 – 29 Jesus tells the lawyer to go to The Law to answer your question. The lawyer was testing Jesus. John 6:29 is of Jesus answering the men’s questions about “works” versus “belief”. These commands that Jesus says are the most important are not listed as part of the 10 Commandments.
